My name is Erin, but everyone calls me Red and that's just fine with me.

I'm a certified VLCE and Vegan Nutrition Specialist, fitness professional, public speaker, writer, consultant, kitchen wrangler, problem solver, host of the popular vegan podcast Red Radio, and right-hand-woman to vegan Wunderkind Chef Jay Astafa. I also co-founded The Seed in 2012, and continue to organize events across North America.

By night I'm a muay Thai practitioner, runner, Bikram Yogini, and tattoo collector. I share my pad with a vegan human, a vegan dog, and two carnivorous cats… all rescued. I hail from Toronto, Canada but Brooklyn, NYC is home.

I hustle. Hard.

Try to keep up.

EP41: Toronto Goes Vegan!

You guys, I had the most fun EVER in Toronto!  Seriously.  I mean, it was a totally crazy weekend but I had the chance to spend a lot of really quality time with my Dad, my best friend Alicia, my Mom, and of course my Fairy Godmother Colleen P-G and her husband, David.  I’m really blessed.  Keep your peepers peeled for the pics - I’ll blog with ‘em soon, and they’ll definitely appear on Facebook, too!

In the meantime, check out Red Radio Episode Forty One - all aboot Toronto’s vegan scene, from the Vegetarian Food Festival to Kensington Market and everything in between.  We even have vegan politicians out there in “T’rana”!  Sweet!

After a week’s hiatus, Erin Red returns with a full report on the Toronto Vegetarian Food Festival in Red Radio Episode Forty One!  After a mouthwatering recap of her epic Canadian weekend, including goodies from the over 100 delicious vendors at the Festival as well as incredible vegan meals from the growing vegan scene in the T-Dot, Festival Coordinator Luke Albert joins Erin Red to discuss the rich history of vegetarianism in Toronto and the future of the world’s largest Veg Festival!  Plus, a truly inspiring Compassionate Clip of the Week - WELCOME BACK!!!  Please consider supporting Red Radio by visiting and clicking the DONATE button, and subscribe to Red Radio on iTunes today!  If you love what you hear, leave a glowing review, or drop Erin Red a line at  You can also read her blog at, and find her on Facebook and Twitter @erinred.

EP26: Meet The Dirty Birds! (or, Dad: Don’t Download This EP)

No, seriously Dad.  Don’t do it.  I mean, it’s for your sake more than anyone else’s.  I’m saying…..honestly, if you really wanted to listen, you could.  It’s nothing too bad, yet.  But yanno.  I say ‘boners’ a lot and I pretty much let the cat out of the bag that I’m not a virgin, so I don’t want to make things awkward is all.

The proverbial cat is proverbially out of the proverbial bag, y’all - super foxy vegan rockstar celebrity ass-kicker Melisser Elliott and I are launching a brand-spankin’ new sex-positive vegan podcast, tentatively named The Dirty Birds.  It’s totally happening!  Listen to us yak for an hour on Red Radio Episode Twenty-Six about what motivated us to produce our upcoming monthly show, and why our partners are kinda freaked out.

We really don’t blame them.

I also get all worked up about animal breeders and why it’s so important to adopt/rescue. Such a jam-packed episode!  WOOT!

Catch up in a couple of days with the show notes!

Red Radio EP5: From Dead Meat to Real Life – Erin Red Interviews a Special Guest!

Hey Cats and Kittens,

Red Radio EP5 has been released into the wild!

In Episode Five, a very special guest joins Erin Red in the studio for an in-depth interview about the rendering, slaughter, and animal agriculture industries.  The charismatic mystery guest discusses his upbringing and career in said industries – including his personal experiences in the slaughterhouses – and his ultimate arrival at a (nearly) vegan life.

I leave you with a photo from my birthday dinner at Pure Food & Wine this weekend, sitting between my two favorite men.  I’m such a lucky gal!
