My name is Erin, but everyone calls me Red and that's just fine with me.

I'm a certified VLCE and Vegan Nutrition Specialist, fitness professional, public speaker, writer, consultant, kitchen wrangler, problem solver, host of the popular vegan podcast Red Radio, and right-hand-woman to vegan Wunderkind Chef Jay Astafa. I also co-founded The Seed in 2012, and continue to organize events across North America.

By night I'm a muay Thai practitioner, runner, Bikram Yogini, and tattoo collector. I share my pad with a vegan human, a vegan dog, and two carnivorous cats… all rescued. I hail from Toronto, Canada but Brooklyn, NYC is home.

I hustle. Hard.

Try to keep up.

EP30 Show Notes!

Holy Vegan Cannoli, guys… RED RADIO EPISODE THIRTY!  THIRTY!!!!  I can barely believe it.

So I apologize for this post arriving so late in the game, but there have been some seriously serious developments in the life of Erin Red over the past week or so.  I am not at liberty to divulge just yet, but stay tuned…I will likely make some announcements in EP31 and beyond, and will obviously be blogging along with that.  It shouldn’t come as any surprise to anyone…I’m not one to keep my mouth shut about much, let alone about myself.

MOVING ON!

I was so thrilled to speak to James Costa in EP30 - he’s such a genuinely wonderful person and his film is going to break tons of ground.  And I think you can tell by the endless gabbing about The Seed: A Vegan Experience that I had such an amazing time!  Let’s get right to the show notes, si?

And of course, Philip Wollen's devastatingly beautiful presentation - the best argument for veganism I have ever heard.

Now, I’m pretty darn sure I’ve forgotten about a TON of stuff I said I’d post…so please, let me know if that’s the case.  My brain is a little fried right now!  And I will be posting a special blog early next week featuring my photos from The Seed - check back!

EP31 is coming up soon - get ready for the awesome!

EP23 Show Notes!

You know what’s cute?  JL Fields, the vegan advocate/blogger/WFAS Board Member/social media darling/superwoman with whom I chatted on Episode Twenty Three of Red Radio, told me she was NERVOUS to hear herself speak on the show.  HOW CUTE IS THAT?!  Especially considering the woman is a total powerhouse and a true inspiration (there’s that word again…).  She was amazing, was she not?!

Also, in “What A Coinky-dink!” News - have you heard EP120 of the Our Hen House Podcast, hosted by Seed Advisory Board Members Jasmin Singer and Mariann Sullivan?  They featured a brief segment about The Seed: A Vegan Experience.  So that means I featured them, and they featured me, all in the same week without any previous knowledge.  I’m telling you, our stars must be aligned!

Alright, enough gab.  Onward to the Show Notes!

Oh man, I’m pretty pooped.  Did I forget anything?  Let me know if I did!

EP23: Meet The Ladies of The Seed – Featuring a Chat with JL Fields!

If someone had approached me a year ago and said, “What’s crackin’, Red…one year from now you’re totally going to be working with a team of major vegan bigwigs to create the biggest vegan show NYC has ever seen”, I’d be all “GTFOH, son!”.  Seriously, I’d probably slap you for being so ridiculous, too.

That’s not very nice of me.

On the real, though…here I am!  The Seed: A Vegan Experience is just over a month away and I’m SUPER blessed to be working amongst some of my vegan idols on such a big event.  Wanna get to know some of them a little better?  You totally do!  Give Episode Twenty Three a listen!

In Red Radio Episode Twenty-Three, Erin Red introduces us to the inspiring team of women behind The Seed: A Vegan Experience!  In an earnest interview with JL Fields (JL Goes VeganStop Chasing Skinny, etc.), we learn about JL’s incredible journey to veganism and activism post-40.  And in the latest installment of The Compassionate Clip of the Week, we’re introduced to two powerhouse vegan women: Jasmin Singer and Mariann Sullivan of Our Hen House.  The kicker?  All three amazing women have joined The Seed’s advisory board!  Have you reserved your tickets yet?!  Remember:  Red Radio is 100% listener supported!  Please consider donating by visiting Erin Red and Red Radio at erinred.com and clicking the DONATE button!  You can also read her blog at erinred.tumblr.com, and find her on Facebook and Twitter @erinred.
