Go Vegan. Thank you!

I'm Erin, but everyone calls me Red and that's just fine with me.

I'm a certified VLCE and Vegan Nutrition Specialist, public speaker, consultant, problem solver, rabble-rouser, jet-setter, host of the popular vegan podcast Red Radio, and right-hand-woman to vegan Wunderkind Chef Jay Astafa. I also co-founded The Seed in 2012, and continue to organize events across North America.

By night I'm a muay Thai practitioner, runner, Bikram Yogini, and tattoo enthusiast. Brooklyn is home, but I hail from Toronto, Canada, and I'm currently on the road.

Try to keep up.

“I think people sometimes get the wrong impression when they’re like, ‘Oh, well, so-and-so was straight and then she was gay, and now she’s straight again’, you know? But it’s like, how many times do I have to kiss a woman before I’m gay? Everybody wants to label people. Sometimes you just fall in love with somebody, and you’re really not thinking about what gender or whatever they happen to be. It think that if I happen to fall in love with a woman, everyone’s going to make a big deal out of it. But if I happen to fall in love with a man, nobody cares.”

Brilliant, really.  Also, seconded.

EP37: Red & Melisser present Dirty Birds Radio EP2!

Seriously, guys… it’s racy.  Not like straight up explicit or pornographic or unnecessary or anything.  But if you’re sitting in a cubicle at, say, the head office at Chik-fil-A or something…. you’re prolly gonna get canned.

If you haven’t already listened, my main homie Melisser Elliott and I are being a little inappropriate in Red Radio Episode Thirty Seven.  In what is also our second installment of Dirty Birds Radio, we answer emails from our inaugural Dirty Birds EP, with topics ranging from kinda cute (“my pug wants to watch me hump!”) to really real (“I’m in a sexless marriage!”), and Melisser and I have a ton of fun sharing advice and stories of our own.  There are curses!  And I say ‘boner’ within the first 10 minutes of the show!

Technical difficulties, be damned!

Red and Melisser return with Episode Two of Dirty Birds Radio, featured in Red Radio Episode Thirty Seven!  Armed with titillating questions from our eager listeners, your favorite Plant Powered Provocateurs cover a slew of sexual conundrums, from sexless marriages to interrupting animal companions to the ever-popular threesome dilemma.  Plus, Red and Melisser share their plans for the future of Dirty Birds Radio - you don’t want to miss this one!  Oh, and a gentle reminder that this EP may not necessarily be kid/work/parent/family friendly - EARMUFFS!  Please consider supporting Red Radio by visiting erinred.com and clicking the DONATE button, and subscribe to Red Radio on iTunes today!  If you love what you hear, leave a glowing review, or drop Erin Red a line at erinredradio@gmail.com.  You can also read her blog at erinred.tumblr.com, and find her on Facebook and Twitter @erinred.

EP26: Meet The Dirty Birds! (or, Dad: Don’t Download This EP)

No, seriously Dad.  Don’t do it.  I mean, it’s for your sake more than anyone else’s.  I’m saying…..honestly, if you really wanted to listen, you could.  It’s nothing too bad, yet.  But yanno.  I say ‘boners’ a lot and I pretty much let the cat out of the bag that I’m not a virgin, so I don’t want to make things awkward is all.

The proverbial cat is proverbially out of the proverbial bag, y’all - super foxy vegan rockstar celebrity ass-kicker Melisser Elliott and I are launching a brand-spankin’ new sex-positive vegan podcast, tentatively named The Dirty Birds.  It’s totally happening!  Listen to us yak for an hour on Red Radio Episode Twenty-Six about what motivated us to produce our upcoming monthly show, and why our partners are kinda freaked out.

We really don’t blame them.

I also get all worked up about animal breeders and why it’s so important to adopt/rescue. Such a jam-packed episode!  WOOT!

Catch up in a couple of days with the show notes!

EP17: Girl Talk with Melisser Elliott & The 2012 NYCVFF Recap!

You guys, I had WAY too much fun recording Red Radio Episode Seventeen!  Melisser Elliott and I discovered we were the same person!  Seriously!  Have you ever seen us both in the same place at the same time?

NO YOU SURE HAVEN’T!

For real, though, the gal’s a gem.  And she knows a bunch of stuff.  And she likes Morrissey.  Also in EP17, I review the 2012 NYCVFF in delicious detail.  Seriously drool worthy.  Check it!

In Episode Seventeen, Erin Red makes a new BFF in superstar blogger, author (A Vegan Girl’s Guide to Life), master baker, makeup maven, and award-winning vegan Wonder Woman Melisser Elliott!  In this intimate interview, the gals examine the super important stuff including (vegan) baking, (grocery) shopping, (booty) dancing, (cruelty-free) makeup and (vegetarian) Morrissey! Also featured in EP17: A delicious review of The 2012 New York City Vegetarian Food Festival, booth by scrumptious booth.  Drool!  Remember:  Red Radio is 100% listener supported!  Please consider donating by visiting Erin Red and Red Radio at erinred.com and clicking the DONATE button!  You can also read her blog at erinred.tumblr.com, and find her on Facebook and Twitter @erinred.
