Go Vegan. Thank you!

I'm Erin, but everyone calls me Red and that's just fine with me.

I'm a certified VLCE and Vegan Nutrition Specialist, public speaker, consultant, problem solver, rabble-rouser, jet-setter, host of the popular vegan podcast Red Radio, and right-hand-woman to vegan Wunderkind Chef Jay Astafa. ERIN RED’S RECOMMENDED VEGAN READING

EP48 Show Notes!

EP49: HAPPY BIRTHDAY RED RADIO!

Red Radio is ONE, y’all!  That’s right - one glorious year of vegan podcasting goodness under the belt.  The way I’ve been eating lately, I’m frankly surprised anything else can fit under my belt…but there it is.  I can’t hardly believe it myself!

When it came time to decide on a guest for Red Radio Episode Forty Nine - THE BIRTHDAY EP! - it was kind of a no-brainer.  Colleen Patrick-Goudreau was my very first guest way back on EP1, and it seemed apropos to bring her back.  We were lucky enough to spend some quality time together this year, and I wanted to show off her more casual side.  She’s a nut, and now you all understand.  Mission accomplished.

It’s Red Radio’s FIRST BIRTHDAY and Erin Red is delighted to welcome back her very first guest, the incredible Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, in Red Radio Episode Forty Nine!  Tackling the all-important question, “What Would Colleen Patrick-Goudreau Do?”, the ladies cover veganism’s most frustrating queries with humor and humility.  Plus, some MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS about the future of Red Radio, and a clever vegan parody of a viral sensation.  All jam-packed into over TWO HOURS of vegan podcasting glory!  YOWZA!  Please consider supporting Red Radio by visiting erinred.com and clicking the DONATE button, and subscribe to Red Radio on iTunes today!  If you love what you hear, leave a glowing review, or drop Erin Red a line at erinredradio@gmail.com.  You can also read her blog at erinred.tumblr.com, and find her on Facebook and Twitter @erinred.

EP47: West Coast Fresh Veggie Lauren & More!

Never fear, folks… all is well at Casa Roja.  There were some pretty serious winds out there, and the rain was falling sideways, but we had power/internet/an open deli throughout the whole storm and Basil spent most of the event curled up with us in the bed.  I reeeeeeaaallly need to get back to work (and the gym), but everything’s hunky dory on our side of things.  Sending love and blessings to those who weren’t so lucky.

Recorded just as the city was shutting down for Sandy, I had SO MUCH FUN chatting with my good friend Lauren for Red Radio Episode Forty Seven!  She’s really honest about her journey and I even learned some things about her I didn’t know.  Plus, I go crazy over the worlds greatest coconut water and play a clip about Dairy Cows by Jonathan Mann and Ivory King.  Super sweet, yo!

The illustrious Fresh Veggies segment returns in Red Radio Episode Forty Seven!  Erin Red chats with dear friend Lauren about (gluten-free!) veganism as it relates to MMA, travel, the corporate world and so much more.  Plus, learn the truth about dairy cows in a Compassionate Clip of the Week featuring vegan interweb superstars Jonathan Mann & Ivory King, and hear all about Erin Red’s absolute FAVORITE post-workout beverage!  YEEHAW!

EP45: The Barbi Twins Get Active!

OK, so 3 weeks or so ago, I sent out a tweet to The Barbi Twins.  I was all, “Hey ladies, would love to have you on my podcast!”  Lo and behold, not 24 hours later, a direct message showed up on my account from the Twins… and the rest, as they say, is history!

I was so thrilled to have the chance to speak to Shane and Sia in Red Radio Episode Forty Five - of course they’re hilarious, spontaneous, and definitely out there… but their passion for helping animals and speaking out for the vegan lifestyle comes through crystal clear.  I have a lot of respect for celebrities who use their ‘powers’ for good, and that’s just what the girls are up to.  More power to ‘em!

You think you know, but you have no idea:  Erin Red welcomes animal activists extraordinaire Shane & Sia Barbi (better known as The Barbi Twins) to talk veganism, animal rights, grassroots activism and so much more in Red Radio Episode Forty Five!  Giggle along with the ladies while they use their 7 & 1/2 minutes (each) of fame to speak up on behalf of the animals.  Plus, Erin Red Raves about her favorite vegan lip balm, and a Compassionate Clip featuring Steve-O!  ROCK ON!

EP44: A Chat with Mark Devries of Speciesism: The Movie!

You guys, I really can’t wait to see Speciesism: The Movie.  I was excited before, but after speaking to producer, writer and director Mark Devries in Red Radio Episode 44, I’m extra pumped up.  Obviously the film will cover some heavy stuff, but by the sounds of it, it’s going to be entertaining and truly thought-provoking, too.  My kinda movie!

If it’s released in theaters I’m definitely going to plan a group trip for sure.  Don’t be jello - come with!  Srsly, if you’re in the NY area and wanna make it happen, y’all know where to find me!

Get excited for the next compelling movie to add to your library:  In Red Radio Episode Forty Four, Erin Red welcomes Mark Devries, producer, writer and director of the upcoming film Speciesism: The Movie to discuss how the movie came to be, Mark’s journey to veganism, and just where humans get this superiority complex in the first place.  Plus, Red Raves about her favorite vegan sunscreen, and a thought provoking Compassionate Clip of the Week.

EP42 Show Notes!

Guys, are you all pooping at least two or three times a day?  I sure hope so, and after the amazing feedback I received from Red Radio EP42 there’s really no excuse anymore.  Y’all should be lean, mean, poop machines.

I call my cats poop machines sometimes.  But I digress.  On to the show notes!!!!

I think that’s all she wrote for EP42, kids.  Stay regular and tune in for the EP43 notes, coming up next!

EP43: A Raw Conversation with Sarma!

What do ODB and Sarma have in common?  A TON of things, evidently… but mostly, they’re both bona fide HUSTLERS.  For real.  Some of the (many) things I admire about this fine lady are her commitment, her hard work, and her determination - and if you’ve listened to Red Radio Episode Forty Three I don’t think I have to tell you why.

…but if I do, it’s because I fancy myself somewhat of a hustler, too.  So dear Sarma is a woman after my very own heart.  And to top it all off, she saved my canine boyfriend Leon Quinn Trujillo Sterling Brit's precious life, and advocates for others to do the same.  Check out the handsome fella below.  Sorry, bitches - he's taken!

Cozy up with your favorite organic green juice and join Erin Red for a conversation with raw food ambassador Sarma in Red Radio Episode Forty Three!  The ladies get fresh, discussing the birth and growth of NYC’s premiere raw dining experience, Pure Food & Wine, Sarma’s evolution towards veganism, and Erin Red’s love affair with Sarma’s rescued puppy, Leon.  It’s an uncooked love fest!  Plus, Erin Red addresses the impending “Baconopalypse” and more in The Vegan Scoop.  Delicious!

EP42: Episode Number Two!

That’s right, y’all.  I finally did it.  An episode entirely devoted to human bowel movements, available to everyone on the internets.  Hooray for technology!

Seriously, though, Red Radio Episode Forty Two was a super fun episode to produce!  I read from some of my favorite books, answered some queries, and interviewed my colon’s BFF, Cassie Koropkin, a vegan colon therapist here in NYC.  Judging by the epic feedback I’ve received from you guys, I’m not the only one who enjoyed myself - this was a popular EP, and I think the ‘why’ is pretty obvious.  EVERYONE POOPS, guys.

It’s time to get down to the nitty gritty in Red Radio Episode Forty Two, also known as Episode “Number Two”!  Erin Red tackles every vegan’s favorite subject – POOPING! – with comprehensive information, book excerpts, a Compassionate Clip of the Week from Dr. Michael Greger, M.D., and an interview with vegan colon therapist Cassie Koropkin of ColonTherapyNYC.com.  Find out why colon health and a vegan lifestyle are so vital to your life, and never be ashamed of peering into the toilet again!  Remember:  EVERYONE POOPS!
