I'm Erin, but everyone calls me Red and that's just fine with me.

I'm a certified VLCE and Vegan Nutrition Specialist, public speaker, writer, consultant, kitchen wrangler, problem solver, rabble-rouser, jet-setter, and host of the popular vegan podcast Red Radio. I also co-founded The Seed in 2012, and continue to organize events across North America.

By night I'm a muay Thai practitioner, runner, Bikram Yogini, and tattoo enthusiast. Brooklyn is home, but I hail from Toronto, Canada, and I'm currently on the road.

Try to keep up.

EP53: UFC Welterweight Aaron Simpson, the Anti-Meathead!

So one of my (completely awesome) listeners sent me a tweet a few weeks back, asking why I don’t really tweet or talk about MMA or Muay Thai as often as I used to.  And I was all, ….you know, I don’t really know.  It’s a pretty huge passion of mine - I’m in the gym more often than I’m home, when I think about it - and many of my listeners are fans, too.

Obviously I was thrilled, then, to book none other than UFC Welterweight and outspoken ETHICAL vegan, Aaron Simpson on Red Radio Episode Fifty Three!  Aaron was gracious enough to chat with me for an hour about all things vegan and MMA-related, and even shared some insight on raising vegan kids.  KICKASS!

Erin Red has the pleasure of featuring two of her passions in Red Radio Episode Fifty Three, featuring a compelling interview with UFC Welterweight and outspoken vegan advocate Aaron Simpson!  Hear all about Aaron’s transition into veganism, raising a vegan family, elite training on a vegan diet, and of course how he deals with the meathead mindset of the fight game.  Plus, the Compassionate Clip of the Week gets our mouths watering for a new vegan cooking show, and Erin Red makes our heads spin and our stomachs turn in the “What The Hell Are People Eating?!” Edition of The Vegan Scoop!  What an adventure!  Please consider supporting Red Radio by visiting Erin Red’s home base erinred.com and clicking the DONATE button, and subscribe to Red Radio on iTunes today!  If you love what you hear, leave a glowing review, or drop Erin Red a line at erinredradio@gmail.com.  You can also read her blog at erinred.tumblr.com, and find her on Facebook and Twitter @erinred.

EP30: ‘Lunch Hour’ Director James Costa & a Massive Recap of The Seed!

It’s good to be back, y’all!  I mean it, it does!  Obviously I missed you - otherwise I wouldn’t have rambled on for hours in Episode Thirty of Red Radio.  Seriously, I just started gabbing and…next thing I knew…longest show ever.  Maybe this makes you super happy; maybe it sincerely irritates you.  In either case, it’s not like it happens all that often so COOL IT!

How completely fantastic is James Costa? The answer is ENTIRELY COMPLETELY FANTASTIC.  He was gracious enough to chat with me while staying at (vegan paradise) The Wynn in Las Vegas, promoting his epic documentary Lunch Hour.  Have you watched the trailer yet?  You totally should.

Red Radio returns after a week’s hiatus with an extended Episode Thirty!  First off, Erin Red has the pleasure of chatting with director and advocate James Costa about his groundbreaking new film, Lunch Hour, and his feelings on activism, veganism, and the future of health in the US. Next up, an enthusiastic journey through the whirlwind weekend that was The Seed: A Vegan Experience!  Erin Red shares every delicious detail and unapologetically brag about her brand new Vitamix!  Plus a very special Compassionate Clip of the Week – what a jam packed episode!!!  Please consider supporting Red Radio by visiting erinred.com and clicking the DONATE button, and subscribe to Red Radio on iTunes today!  If you love what you hear, leave a glowing review, or drop Erin Red a line at erinredradio@gmail.com.  You can also read her blog at erinred.tumblr.com, and find her on Facebook and Twitter @erinred.

EP19 Show Notes!

Ok, ok…I promised it’d be out yesterday, but then that little thing called ‘Life’ got in the way…and here it is, the tail end of Wednesday, and Red still hasn’t pulled it together.  Shameful I tell you!  I hope y’all can forgive me.

Here they are!  Show notes!  For EP19!  Ta DA!

I think…that’s it.  Am I forgetting something?  …I feel like I am.  Let me know if I am!

Can’t wait for EP20!

EP8 Show Notes (Finally!)

Hey Bulls & Heifers!

I’m *ahem* borrowing some wi-fi tonight to finally post the all-important show notes for Red Radio EP8.  As I’ve mentioned on Twitter, I have been receiving some very fired-up emails from so many of you about my views on veganism.  No offense taken at all - I’m THRILLED to be making so many of you think so hard about what it means to be vegan and as always I make no apologies for my truths.  That being said, rest assured I will address this topic and more on next week’s show.

Alright, on with the show notes!

My New Red Radio Reporters!

Two Super Awesome Tech Dudes I LOVE!

  • Luke Radl (my ever-so-gracious & devastatingly talented website dude)
  • Christ Priest (my blindingly generous & melodically gifted music dude)

Vegan Messagewear!

Also, I’m at the tail end of Day Three of my organic raw juice cleanse and feeling SPECTACULAR!  I worked all day, trained muay Thai for 2 hours, ran 5 (very chilly) miles, and taught a conditioning class…and I’m simply buzzing with clear, clean energy right now.  Life is good!  If you’re interested in information about the cleanse I’m on, check out The Juice Press Online for tons of amazing information, juice porn and much, much more.

Stay tuned for EP9 and beyond, y’all.

Big things poppin’,
